Kankakee County CEO Students Get a Taste of Success at Urban Farmer
Today, the Kankakee County CEO students had the opportunity to tour Urban Farmer in Manteno, Illinois. They met with Jonathan Keigher from Urban Farmer and were joined by CEO board president and former Urban Farmer CEO John M. Keigher. Students gained valuable insight into the company’s unique manufacturing process for gluten-free pizzas and other innovative, better-for-you products. The tour highlighted Urban Farmer's commitment to strict safety and sanitation protocols, which were both emphasized and demonstrated. Additionally, students learned how the company fosters a positive work environment by actively incorporating employee feedback to improve its facilities and operations.
Founded in 2013, Urban Farmer has grown from 50 employees in 2017 to around 300 today. The company specializes in better-for-you frozen foods, including plant-based and gluten-free pizzas, offering private label, co-manufacturing, and foodservice solutions.
