Mayor Curtis and Clerk Gall Share Valuable Knowledge on Economic Development With CEO Students
A group of Kankakee County CEO students toured the City of Kankakee Administration Building earlier this morning, meeting with Mayor Chris Curtis and City Clerk Stacy Gall. The visit offered insights into the city’s approach to economic development and the role of local government in supporting businesses. Students also learned about the responsibilities of a City Clerk and Mayor.
Mayor Curtis discussed Kankakee’s initiatives to attract investment, create jobs, and improve the quality of life for residents. His emphasis on collaboration between government, entrepreneurs, and community leaders gave students a deeper understanding of how local policies impact economic growth.
City Clerk Stacy Gall provided a detailed explanation of the business licensing process in Kankakee. She outlined the rationale for business licenses and the steps required to obtain one, equipping students with practical knowledge for their personal business ventures. She also highlighted some of the many other aspects of her role as City Clerk, including documentation of minutes, and maintaining historic records of city business.
The students left the visit with a greater appreciation for the role of city government in fostering economic development and supporting entrepreneurs. The Kankakee County CEO program thanks Mayor Curtis and Clerk Gall for their time and support of these future leaders!
