LN Engineering Tour Connects CEO Students with High-Tech Manufacturing

On October 21, Kankakee County CEO students stepped into the world of high-performance automotive engineering during a behind-the-scenes tour of Momence-based LN Engineering, a company specializing in aftermarket Porsche parts and innovative engine solutions. Owners Charles Navarro and Tammy Hellings shared the history of their business, which began as a student project at Northwestern University over two decades ago, and gave students an in-depth look at the production process from start to finish.

Throughout the tour, students learned about various career paths in the industry. They also gained insight into the connections between chemistry, engineering, and design, and quality control. A highlight of the visit was the opportunity to see the vintage Porsche cars, making the experience both educational and memorable.
