United Way Breakfast Provides CEO Students with Networking and Learning Opportunities

This morning, Kankakee County CEO students had the privilege of attending the United Way of Kankakee and Iroquois Counties' Municipal Leaders Breakfast. The event provided a valuable opportunity for students to network with local community leaders and legislators, allowing them to practice their communication skills through professional introductions and conversations.

The students also gained insights into the important work United Way and other local nonprofits do to support the community. They heard from leaders representing organizations like Harbor House, Catholic Charities, and Options CIL. The skills students are developing in the CEO program—such as leadership, communication, and business management—are also the tools needed to run an effective nonprofit organization. Opportunities like the one this morning help students not only gain insights about our community but also shed light on potential future career opportunities in the nonprofit sector.

Special thanks to Mariah Vail and the United Way team for inviting the CEO class to be part of this meaningful event!
