Banking Basics: CEO Students Visit Midland States Bank

Kankakee County CEO students visited Midland States Bank in downtown Kankakee, where Market President and Kankakee County CEO board member Mike O’Brien provided an informative overview of the banking industry. O’Brien explained how banks generate revenue and discussed the variety of financial services they offer to businesses and individuals, including loans, certificates of deposit (CDs), and investment and retirement services.

O’Brien also shared his personal career journey, encouraging students to remain open to new experiences and opportunities as they navigate their futures. To further enrich their understanding of finance and banking, the CEO class will meet with O’Brien again later in the year, focusing on how these financial concepts apply to their personal business ventures in the next semester.
