TURNING RUBBISH INTO REVENUE: Putting Entrepreneurial Thinking to the Test
As part of Kankakee County CEO’s commitment to fostering innovation and nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit, we’re excited to announce the launch of our "Trash to Cash Challenge." In this unique project, students have been tasked with turning two boxes of trash bags into a minimum of $700 within a month to generate seed money for their future business ventures. This is a good reminder for students that business owners often start small, using whatever resources they have to generate revenue and launch their business.
This challenge is more than just a test of business skills; it’s an opportunity for students to push the boundaries of their creativity and teamwork. By transforming something as simple as trash bags into a profitable venture, students will gain valuable experience in thinking outside the box, demonstrating ingenuity, and collaborating effectively.
The money generated from this challenge will serve as seed funding for the students’ future CEO Class Business, laying the foundation for their entrepreneurial journey. This exercise is a hands-on approach to teaching the core principles of entrepreneurship: hard work, resourcefulness, and innovative thinking.
